What Time Is It?

The abnormal combination of retirement, black-out curtains, tinted window shades, and advanced age gave birth to the W.T.I.I. Syndrome! You know you are afflicted with this dread disease when you wake up at all times of day or night, and ask out loud, “What time is it?”

For me, it started about four years ago when my wife, (CMB), and I moved into our pseudo-affordable, senior get-away apartment, on the shady side of Las Vegas. We moved from Sunny San Diego so we could afford to buy a loaf of bread, and still pay our rent! Vegas living, (although considered our last resort for retirement living), has been economically consistent, and very good to us. However, the summertime “sun-sations” blast a laser-intensive hole in your cool zones and your cooling bill! Thus the shaded window screens and black-out curtains! Our apartment is so dark that the photo-sensitive nightlights never go off! (Not even in the middle of the day!), “Just the way we like it!”

Technology solves a myriad of social, economic, medical, and practical issues. CMB and I are very tech-savvy old geezers, who build our own gaming computers, simplify our diet with every “Gadget Lady” kitchen appliance you can think of, and monitor our health with a bank of vital-tracking equipment to report our health stats to our doctors during video-conference appointments via the internet. So, naturally, we resorted to technology to cure W.T.I.I.! This wonderful, time-keeping device blasts the T.O.D., (time of day), directly onto the wall or ceiling, (your choice), 24/7! Being an ex-military vet, I prefer the 24-hour clock mode, which unmistakably informs me whether the time indicated is a.m. or p.m., at a glance!

I am no longer a Sales Manager or SEO Tech Developer, so it is not my intention to market this wonderful device for a profit, however, I will imply that a certain online giant that starts with an "A" and ends with an "N" just happens to sell this miracle cure for W.T.I.I.! So, suffer no more! Wake up whenever you like, secure in the knowledge that you will always have a firm grasp on the T.O.D. and your sanity! Now that is a wonderful combination!

My Personal Influencer!

The first article I had ever written in the 80's, sold to an international martial arts magazine. The article was written on an old manual typewriter that poked holes in the paper as I "hen-pecked" my way from start to finish. The article was inspired by two of my BFAMs, one of whom is now a legendary Capoeira Master, and the other who is now a poetic, master pastry chef! I was a super prolific writer in those days, after having majored in Commercial Art and minored in Journalism, ("Thank you, Mr. Adams and Ms. Dixon"). I wrote everything from product descriptions to novelty button slogans. Do you weigh his life’s work or his accomplishments in the world of business? Is he a famous actor, sports figure or entertainer? Does his name appear on buildings, build boards or buses?
